Chief Legal Officer

Mrs Oluseye Alayande comes with close to two decades post call experience, with relevant expertise in providing sound legal and commercial advice, covering Exploration and Production, Oil Trading/Marketing, Power, Gas and Property Development. She has many years of senior management experience.

She started her career as Counsel at Chief Rotimi Williams Chambers. At different times, she was Associate Counsel (Energy Department) at Adepetun, Caxton-Martins, Agbor & Segun; Senior Associate Counsel at City Partners; Legal Manager at Sahara Group Limited; Senior Legal Counsel at Afren Nigeria (she later rose to the position of Deputy General Counsel).

As Deputy General Counsel at Afren Nigeria, she was responsible for all legal, commercial and regulatory matters relating to assets, new business acquisitions and projects. She has extensive drafting and negotiating expertise having executed agreements and commercial contracts with host governments, third parties and co-ventures across a broad range of operations, transactions and business activities.

She holds an LLB degree from the University of Jos and she is a Barrister at Law (BL). She is a member of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Institute of Chartered Arbitrators (UK Chapter), and the Association of International Petroleum Negotiators (AIPN).

She is married with children.
